Hibiscus Flower, or Jamaican Sorrel, is used by many countries around the world for making teas hot and cold, and punches. Another use for the flower is in soups and sauces. It can also be candied and used as a garnish, usually for desserts.

Bring 2 quarts of water and 1 cup of sugar to a boil Add spices as desired; possibilities include cinnamon, ginger, allspice, cloves, mint, orange peel, a lace of mace, and dried vanilla pods or vanilla extract Add 1 cup of dried hibiscus flowers Remove from heat, cover, and steep for 20 minutes, then strain Chill and serve over ice
