Originally created in the late 18th century, Nonpareils are sugary little treats that will make your confections festive and eye-catching. Sprinkle them on ice cream sundaes, or swirl them into your cake batter. They are excellent on top of chocolate treats as well.
The French name has been interpreted to mean they were "without equal" for intricate decoration of cakes, desserts, and other sweets, and the elaborate pièces montées constructed as table ornaments.
